
1 lb mild or original pork sausage
2 tbsp butter
4 tbsp flour
2 cups milk
salt & pepper to taste
Laury's seasoned salt (a few dashes)

Brown sausage over medium heat in a skillet
Note: the original recipe calls for 1/2 lb hot and 1/2 lb mild sausage. I did a batch for church using 5 lbs of sausage, and used 2 lbs of original and 3 lbs of mild, and got rave reviews.

Once meat is browned (fully cooked), remove from skillet with a slotted spoon and set aside

add butter to skillet from meat. Melt butter, then slowly add flour to make a roux

slowly add milk - continuously stirring until mixed well

Add spices to taste, then return sausage to skillet.

Stir and simmer for 1-2 minutes until desired consistency is reached.

serve over split biscuits
