This comes from a copy of 'Southern Living" (Issue unknown)... something I'm pretty sure my mother in law printed out or copied and left in my kitchen. It was worth a shot, and ended up being well worth the minimal effort!!

 1 tbsp butter
1

slice the top and bottom off the onion

2

4

place onion in a microwave safe bowl

5

place bullion cube and butter in the hole in the onion

6

place lid on the bowl, and microwave for 8 minutes

7
